So I heard about this a while back and got pretty excited. Well last night after a trip to Best Buy to drop 100$ on a new laptop charger, I decided to see if they had anything new about it on the Zune website. Lo and behold it starts shipping in a week for the price of 289.99 (for the 32gb). It's basically has the same dimensions as the ipod touch, but it's about .3 inches shorter and .3 inches less wide. About .07 deeper however, but about an ounce or so lighter. The screen size is just little bit smaller considering the overall size is smaller.

Overall it looks pretty sleek with it's HD radio, HD video out, web browser, app store (not sure how the selection will be though since this will be new), 3.3 inch OLED display, and 33 hours of audio and 8.5 hours of video battery life.

Has anyone else heard anything about it? Any additional info you think I might need before I buy it?

I am definitely getting one. I have a Zune now... and I love it.. use it continuously for my commute. I have always been a huge fan of monthly music subscriptions... been a Zunepass member for awhile now. It is awesome when you hear a new artist you just grab their whole catalog without thinking. :)

But yeah... stoked for Zune HD.
Sweet I'm not the only one. My girlfriend has been wanting an ipod touch because she doesn't have an mp3 player and everyone else has one. I told her to get this because it's really the same, and I have had no problems with my zune.

I've also been thinking about getting the zune pass, maybe I can split it with her since you can use it on 3 computers and 3 devices right?

You'll have to add me so I can see what kind of music the great ChangeAgent listens to.
Yeah I currently use the Zunepass on my home PC, work laptop and my wife's laptop... and when I get the ZuneHD I will give her the Zune to keep in the car... so we will be all connected up!

I mainly listen to trance/electronic... but also bands like Angles & Airwaves... or whatever... but then I also have all these Disney & wiggles songs on my Zune card due to my kids :)
Yah I was wondering if the pass works on more than one card or just one persons. I don't want to have the music my girlfriend listens too on my card.
So I know someone who might have seen and held one =) And I hear the touch is awesome, and the device is super slick and that person is really looking forward to getting one to upgrade their 80G, once the other colors and options are available.
Yeah I just read at lunch time that Apple is discounting their current Ipod's pricing, and launch a new Ipod, probably to compete with the new Zune.

Personally I already have a Sidekick LX with an additional memory card for audio and video files on the go. It would be hard for me to rationalize $300 for a MP3/MP4 player when you can now get a Netbook w/HDMI for the same price. {Even though I already have a good Laptop}. Not to mention the whole Micro$oft DRM issues with downloaded music/ videos.

I dunno maybe it is just me.....

I personally like the Zune because I can do the music pass, use it on 2 Zunes, 3 computers, and my Xbox 360 with the one pass, and have the same collection of music.

Also I record stuff on my media PC and drop it to my zune to watch on the go, or plug the zune into the Xbox and watch shows at lunch. Its just a pretty seemless environment.
Yah I looked that price drop up. Yah it's an obvious response to the zune hd. But really if someone likes the zune environment they aren't going to decide to get the ipod because now it's the same price, or the size (which I'm sure microsoft will crank out a 64 gb version soon too)
@WayneMSmith Agreed.... people are choosing what they buy for other reasons than price.
Price is why I bought a PS2 when I could have had a PS3.
